This is a brief update for the Ethicon Vaginal Mesh Trials currently underway.

Vaginal mesh lawsuits involving vaginal mesh devices marketed by Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon, Inc. unit continue to move forward in the multidistrict litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia. There has been  a Pretrial Order dated August 5, 2013, and the  court has established deadlines for the completion of discovery and other matters pertaining to the first two bellwether trials in the Ethicon mesh lawsuits. The Order also schedules a Pretrial Conference for January 8, 2014, with the first trial to begin on January 14th. There has not been an  official Ethicon Prolene Mesh recall  issued by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). But,  J & J voluntarily made the decision to discontinue the following products:

Gynecare Prolift + M Kit

Gynecare TVT Secure

Gynecare Prosima Pelvic Floor Repair System Kit
